A Brown Bag FORUM on CLIMATE & ENERGY

We are pleased to announce a bi-weekly “brown bag” forum focused on climate and energy related research and developments. Expected topics include:
  • Extreme climate events and energy sector reliability
  • Handling uncertainty in climate projections for energy sector resilience
  • Reports to Action: How assessments and scientific reports can better inform resilience
  • Vulnerable communities and exposure to climate risk
  • Increasing diversity in the geosciences, energy and policy communities

About the FORUM

Each session will feature a presentation on the research or issue, followed by a moderated Q&A and then an open forum. We plan on this being an informal, lunch time “brown bag” seminar series, familiar to academics, but with a focus on open discussions to foster resilience, collaboration and establish connections.

This forum emerged as a venue to expand on conversations surrounding two sessions at the 2020 AGU Annual Meeting. The goal of this event is to bring practitioners, scientists, and policy folks together in an informal, casual environment where they can share ideas with ample time for discussion. This forum is organized by Eagle Rock Analytics on behalf of the California Energy Commission, supported by Public Interest Energy Research (PIR-17-014).
